Publisher's description of Baseball Mogul 2005
Last year's version of the genre-defining baseball management sim is now 100%. Baseball Mogul 2005begins in any year you choose with the full roster of your favorite team -- or an entirely fictional team of your own creation. As General Manager (GM), your job is to build the best lineup of players to take your team to the World Series. You can make complex player trades and sign players to multi-year contracts as you build your team, but you'll have to compete with the other General Managers, and negotiate with the player's agents.
As GM you also have to manage all the finances for your ball club. Set the price of tickets and concessions and sell broadcast rights while you manage your team's budget for your farm system, player scouts, medical staff, and player payroll.

"Lacks the sophistication of OOTP, but a good game"
Pros: This is a nuts and bolts simulation with some nice features. You can do all the player swapping, lineup changes, rotation changes, etc.
I also like the speed with which you can play one season or multiple seasons.
It also has some pretty in-depth monetary options. I love the trade screen/trading block options. It allows you to try and get maximum value for the trades. It's a solid virtual GM game.
Cons: It lacks the graphic sophistication of Out of the Park; it's really simple interface with a few graphics splashed in. I'm a huge fan of OOTP up to OOTP6, so everything gets compared to that series.
I wish there was a better handling of minor league systems. It can be difficult to sort through your players to remember who is a real prospect and who isn't. I don't like having to go through all the player cards to do that each season. I'd like to see some way to, at a glance, see where each minor leaguer stands (rating system).
There is also an issue with guys being Overall 100. I had a player once with 212 RBI and 90+ HR. A little askew, but we won a lot :-) I've had a couple of guys put Bonds' career to shame and throw out some huge numbers.
