- "Encryption made handier"
This program offers a more-convenient method for encrypting files than other utilities in its class. Since BestCrypt secures files by creating virtual drives that are handled like normal ones, you won't waste time encrypting separate files.
You can access your files and perform operations such as copy, move, and compress from within any application. The program uses several tough-to-crack encryption algorithms, including Blowfish, Twofish, and Rijndael, but you also can add others if you like. When you want to hide your sensitive information, you simply disable the drive with one click. We appreciate that you can place your encrypted drive on removable media, such as Flash memory or a CD.
For added security, BestCrypt cleans free disk space, making it impossible for others to restore deleted files. If you don't have a lot of time to devote to data security, by all means give BestCrypt a try.

Version: BestCrypt 8.05.6
"genuinely secure - copy files to a container file drive"
Pros: on winXP pc I created a container file thats mounted as a drive, copied to a UNIX box, and used strings command to search container file for password, and searched whole of C: drive (win search inside files), and registry - could not find it
Cons: if you want to copy the container file between home and work, you need to have admin rights on work machine, so you can install bestcrypt program to mount the container file - there may be a way around this I've not explored yet
Summary: I am an IT professional (a UNIX / Linux systems administrator), and in my opinion this s really is VERY VERY good apart from the small con above - I cant understand why the planks in the british governement don't use this to make their files secure ... read more >>
