Cons: after installing this, my computer's sound mysteriously disapperared, now my comp has no sound & the worst part is it is hard to uninstall...scrap this, get realtek...its more reliable

"BEWARE: It might fry your Sound card!"
Cons: If you don't know for certain which chipset you have, you'll fry the sound card which in turn blows the registry!

Pros: Works just about.
Cons: Hard to intall. Assuming you have disabled your on board sound. You have to remove everthing to do with sound in both 'programs add/remove' and 'system -> properties hardware' . Then stop windows XP SP2 detecting it and adding its own non working drivers before you manage to install it and then put up with the install program which runs for ages doing nothing before it crashes. By the way crashing seems to be this programs exit strategy as if you reboot manually even after 30 min of watching 'waiting for audio driver to become available' it doesnt work, oh no its got to crash. If you manage to do all this perfectly then and only then will it work and the result is worse than my on board system a cheepo Dell 4500 with sound max. I am off to buy a better card, a mainstream one with decent drivers and support.
