- "Quick, easy, free"
Although it lacks a few of the bells and whistles found in other PC-cleaning applications, this free program offers more than enough features to make it a worthy download. CCleaner's interface is logically designed and makes it easy to wipe away your tracks from Internet Explorer and Mozilla, various Windows system areas, and some third-party applications.
CCleaner doesn't support a large number of extraneous programs as some competitors do, but it can erase traces from such popular programs as Spybot - Search & Destroy and WinZip. Also missing is a secure file shredder, but it makes up for the omission by supplying a Registry-cleaning utility, which quickly scans for invalid entries before removing them. CCleaner can even back up your Registry before removal, in case it accidentally removes a crucial component, and the download includes a feature for uninstalling any program on your machine.
Since this free application handles the majority of PC-cleaning chores and offers a nice extra, we have no problem recommending CCleaner to all users, except those who need to get rid of supersensitive data.

"Best FREE Cleaning Program Around!"
Pros: CCleaner is simply the best free cleaning program out there.
The program provides the ability to clean application and internet traces from all the major browsers, as well as tons of third party programs. It also allows you to protect cookies from being deleted, in case there are some sites you would like to preserve your settings on. For those of you who like to have security and keep your browsing and application use information secret, this will surely appeal to you.
The above would be all I needed to rate this fine freeware program with five stars, but, they also added a top-notch registry cleaning program that in my experience has found errors even the top commercial programs missed. In my experience it has never deleted any needed entries, but you should always review the selections before it deletes them just in case. If you do find a problem, the program gives the option to backup your registry before it makes any changes.
Not that all this wasnt enough it offers its own uninstaller program, which you can use to securely remove programs with. It also has a startup manager which you can use to remove unwanted programs from your startup. Only use this if you know what your removing, as removing the wrong items can have adverse effects on your system.
Finally last but not least, it offers secure file deletion. The choices are 1, 3 or 7 pass deletion. Most free programs rarely offer this very important feature.
Other options include, the ability to run CCleaner at startup, add a Run option to the recycling bin, automatic updates, custom setup for folders and files you want regularly removed that are not in the regular options.
I can't recommend this program highly enough, it does just about anything you would want in a cleaner and it's free!
Cons: While to program is more then anyone could ask in freeware program, it would be even better if they added support for secure file deletion beyond 7 passes (a 32 pass selection would be optimum, even though many experts believe no more then 7 passes are needed)
They should place a warning on the startup manager like they do in the advanced cleaner settings since many novices dont understand the harm they could cause by removing the wrong programs from startup.

Version: CCleaner 1.28.277
Pros: This is the best and most effective registry editing tool available.I have used it for about 6 months with no problems.
It cleans not only the tracks from basically all your popular apps, but more importantly cleans the junk left behind after installing and uninstalling apps which will speed up your pc!
It also allows you to create a back up in case you delete something that you shouldn't have(not likely).
Cons: None.....
Back your registry up for first use and if something goes wrong simply double click the back up and it installs it like new.Magic!
I should note it never deleted anything it shouldn't have though.

"Great utility Program and cleaner"
Pros: Probably one of the best utility ive seen. It cleans both temporary internet files, cookies and many other file related objects in internet browsing. It also comes with registry cleaner which removes obsolete files and invalid registry files esp. those left after uninstalling a program. Not heavy on system resources and very small disk- space usage. It also comes with a back- up registry which can be usefull in recovering deleted registry entry like a crucial key used by Windows.
Cons: Even if it comes with a back- up utility for registry cleaning, be sure to examine every registry files it removes. It removes unfamiliar files that maybe used by some programs especially games. Be sure to recognize them thoughroughly before removing them.

Version: CCleaner 1.28.277
Pros: I have been using this on all of my computers for a very long time and have not had any trouble. When someone brings over their computer for me to fix... this is one of the first programs I download and install for them. It's simply a must have tool. It will clear the history and cookies for IE, Firefox/Mozilla, and Opera... I'm not sure about other browsers. It will clean up the history for AdAware, FoxIt, Microsoft Office, Windows Media Player, Real Player, and Java just to name a few. It has a secure file delete feature that will do a normal delete, 1 pass, 3 passes, 7 passes. You can scan and fix registry errors. You can select which cookies you would like to keep so when you run the cleaner, you won't have to log into all your favorite sites again. It's really hard to believe that this is free. As far as it installing the Yahoo Toolbar... there is an option for that, simply clear the check mark during install and the toolbar won't install. As you can tell, I highly recommend. No computer should be without.
Cons: NOTHING - I LIKE IT ALL

Version: CCleaner 1.28.277
Pros: This customizable registry and file cleaner simply has no equal - at least not that I can find. The greatest thing about it is that it cleans your system thoroughly 'as is', but also gives you the ability to do custom cleaning of registry entries and files that may be unique to your system. It even has the ability to erase files so they cannot be recovered by 'undelete' utilities. GET IT ! !
