CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) is a system-optimization tool. It removes unused and temporary files from your system, allowing it to run faster and more efficiently, and giving you more hard-disk space. The application cleans traces left by Windows, Internet Explorer, and third-party applications. Version 1.28.227 updates Hotfix Uninstaller cleaning, adds secure certificate to the installer, and improves secure deletion performance.

"Quick, easy, free"

Although it lacks a few of the bells and whistles found in other PC-cleaning applications, this free program offers more than enough features to make it a worthy download. CCleaner's interface is logically designed and makes it easy to wipe away your tracks from Internet Explorer and Mozilla, various Windows system areas, and some third-party applications.

CCleaner doesn't support a large number of extraneous programs as some competitors do, but it can erase traces from such popular programs as Spybot - Search & Destroy and WinZip. Also missing is a secure file shredder, but it makes up for the omission by supplying a Registry-cleaning utility, which quickly scans for invalid entries before removing them. CCleaner can even back up your Registry before removal, in case it accidentally removes a crucial component, and the download includes a feature for uninstalling any program on your machine.

Since this free application handles the majority of PC-cleaning chores and offers a nice extra, we have no problem recommending CCleaner to all users, except those who need to get rid of supersensitive data.

"keeps getting better"

Pros: this program improves and add more programs to its least all the times... cant wait for the next update

Cons: none.. its missing a scheduler then i can get rid of one of my other cleaners i currently have three, ccleaner , drive cleaner and free internet eraser.. if this had a scheduler i could remove internet eraser

"Great!!!"

Pros: CCleaner is a wonderful program and is a must have if you have a slow/sluggish PC. With its tabs for different cleanings and its quick yet THOROUGH scanning it increases system performance dramatically. You may want to get another registry cleaner instead of using this one because you need to be computer saavy to use it otherwise you may delete something important. I recommend TweakNow RegCleaner. I'd give this program 10 stars but 5 is max. GIVE IT A SHOT!

Cons: This really isnt a con but if you have a 2.5GHz+ computer it wont really "speed it up" but it will free up a lot of space; dont be surprised if it finds 500mb+ of junk on your computer.

"Been using ccleaner for 2 years trouble free, but..."

Pros: Free, cleans fast, well you know all the rest... simply the best.

Cons: 5 days ago when I did a sweep with ccleaner, my antivirus opened up warning me there was a corrupt file,and to be safe, they quarrantined the file.Nothing again until another sweep.For some reason Ccleaner was corrupting the same file all the time and I had the same warning over and over.Sadly.. and I mean sadly I had to uninstall, and install another cleaner (iISystemWiper) Similar tool, and had no problems with that.Its a sad day for me :o(

"Easy, Safe, Fast and FREE!!!"

Pros: It works. My computer is noticeably faster and runs cleaner whenever I use it. I've had NO problems with it.
The interface is easy to use.
You can choose to analyze one category at a time and then decide to delete. I found out that just using the default settings makes a marked improvement in my computer's performance.
