Version: Cactus Spam Filter 2.0
Pros: Does what it says. Simple and easy to use.
Cons: You have to start the program after you've opened your email program - at least with Eudora, otherwise it won't catch your mail. Shell integration with Eudora would be nice. It's easier to just delete the spam. It appears every email must be trained, regardless of whether it's already tagged good or bad so it involves more input from the user.

Pros: I'm using outlook express. Cactus Spam was very easy to install and get it working. I've only been using it for a few weeks and am happy so far.
Cons: It's free and not completely automatic. You need to train the spam filter which can be easily done using existing emails. You need to setup a message rule to direct spam to a junk mail folder. The cactus spam site tells you how to. I think it's good to have some control and input rather than rely on something totally automatic.

"I like how it tells me that things are spam."
Pros: It tells me what is and is not spam.
Cons: It still allows the spam to come through and I have to constantly delete it. I would like a program that does not allow the spam to come through at all.
