Version: Captain FTP 4.2
Pros: I've used this product for years-- all have been great but 4.2 really blows any other FTP program I've come accross out of the water. Bravo!
Cons: I can't think of any.

Version: Captain FTP 4.2
"Great product, very Mac like, visually simple yet potent."
Pros: This is the FTP client to use. I first came across it while putting up web pages while working with Freeway, a Mac only Web design engine. I was looking hard at choosing Transmit, another simple and popular Mac FTP client. I am very glad I went with Captain FTP.
Interarchy is also a good choice for an FTP client for the technically inclined. I have no doubt about it's power, but it isn't good for the side of the brain that I work out of, the visual side. That's why I love Captain FTP. It just works. And Captain FTP proves that simple does not have to mean dumbed down. With Captain FTP you get two windows instead of just one. You can make either side a server or a a location on your Mac. That came in handy recently when I migrated a client from one server to another. Server to server file transfers. And you can drag and drop into or out of the windows. Captain FTP makes your server seem like a local file on the Mac. It's very easy to use and visually it just makes sense.
This product has had many, many, small releases. They seem to design like I do, they can't leave it alone. Those guys must pull a lot of all-nighters and possibly even own stock in Jolt Cola, because this product is frequently coming out with small changes and improvements. They respond quickly too. When I first started using Captain FTP it had limited or no support for AppleScript. I commented about it and now (probably not just because mine was the only comment - I doubt it) Captain FTP is well equipped to make full use of AppleScript. They have also added drop folders and other goodies for network transfers that I have not had time to even consider yet.
All in all Captain FTP is a very robust, very stable, visually intuitive and well supported piece of software. As I mentioned earlier, everyone has their own favorites for FTP chores, After trying many other FTP clients, Captain FTP is certainly my favorite.
