Version: Digsby beta
"Nice, but needs to address yahoo spam and doesnt address refusal of friend requests"
Pros: Digsby is very nice.
It unifies all the places we are called upon to chat/communicate with others, checking our email for new messages, ditto for facebook, unifies the different instant messengers, and (lacking in the version I tried but promised to be there soon) apparently allowing support for multiple IDs within a same messaging client.
Cons: Yahoo is the worse place for being harassed with spam I have ever seen. Especially if you are in any yahoo groups... spammers look up the lists and just fire away... I wouldn't be surprised if there was an automated procedure to do this!
In Yahoo, the problem gets addressed with a "report spam" function. This is lacking in digsby and the other clone messengers, and is the main cause fo rme not using it or any of the other ones. I try them again from time to time, but no one seems to want to bother adding this... yet, when you open ANY compatible messenger (not just digsby), you are bombardes with yahoo spam messages. It is enough to keep away and use the real yahoo messenger.
Also, I noticed that digsby does not adequately address the issue of refusing a contact to add you... if you say no, it just comes back next time!

Version: Digsby beta
"The All - In One, Messaging Client"
Pros: Digsby is a brilliant app. In this beta release I have had not troubles whatsoever. Digsby is also perfect for using running of a USB stick, converting it to a U3p is a good decision for those out there with the equipment. Finally an app that shows the other messengers for what they really are.
Cons: Some things could be implemented in later versions, such as custom emotions and emotions in general. But lets remember its still just a beta.

Version: Digsby beta
"If this is beta, can't wait for the real one."
Pros: It works very well, it's the most complete at keeping track of multiple e-mail accounts. I tried to use Thunderbird, but if there's a way to make it keep track of hotmail accounts, I don't understand how. Digsby does this very easily. I also like to keep track of my facebook account through Digsby.
Cons: A little resource-hoggish when it first starts up (as it connects to all your e-mail accounts). I wish there was a way to space these out a little bit so it didn't bring everything else I'm doing online to a standstill.

Version: Digsby beta
"So good, I bought more memory!"
Pros: This is a beautiful, fun and functional client. I have Trillian Pro, but I prefer Digsby for its looks and features. It displays updates from MySpace, Twitter and Facebook as well as connecting to the main IM networks. I like the mini-banners that allow you to respond to an IM without opening the chat window. Banner is not the right word as this is far from adware, but I can't think of what to call the feature.
Cons: I could not successfully complete a file transfer. The main drawback to this program is the HUGE memory usage. It used 90 MB, and usually is running in the 60s. Sometimes it will go down, but I can't figure out why, because it has nothing to do with whether or not it is minimized when I test that. Because of this, I was afraid to keep the program or leave it on all the time, and temporarily went back to Trillian. Normally I will dump a program as crap if it is a resource hog, but I like Digsby so much that I actually bought a memory upgrade instead. I may never have done that otherwise, but this is an excellent reason to do so in my opinion. Gee, now I can use Firefox more often as well ;)
