Publisher's description of G-Lock SpamCombat
From G-Lock Software:SpamCombat takes the decision about spam at the result of passing incoming emails through its filters. DNSBL filter and the Bayesian filter are used to identify spam. DNSBL filter consists in comparing the senders' IP addresses against lists of known spam databases using Public Blacklists (also called DNSBL lists). The Bayesian filter is the most powerful spam filter based on the analysis of the message content and mathematical calculation of spam.
The advantage of the Bayesian filter is that the filter can be trained by each individual user by categorizing each received email as either spam or good; after the user has categorized a few emails the filter will begin to make this categorization by itself. If the filter makes a mistake, the user re-categorizes the email; the filter learns from its mistakes.

"One of the best spam filters around"
Pros: Filters messages while they are on you mail server, keeping spam, viruses etc. from ever reaching your e-mail client. Comes pre-configured with a number of filters that will start catching spam immediately. Most recent version allows filtering by country of origin, which eliminates two-thirds of all spam. Keeps history of deleted messages that can be recovered in the event a good message is deleted by mistake.
Cons: Regular expression filters sometimes hard to configure, although text strings can also be used for filtering. Free version only handles one POP3/IMAP account.

Version: G-Lock SpamCombat 2.3 build 445
Pros: This is the second program of this type that I've tried. The first was rubbish. G-lock is relatively simple and intuitive. I'm very happy, espec being freeware.
Cons: The illustrated tabs up top are a little vague.

"Too complicated, few instructions, too agressive delete"
Cons: I program myself, but this one is very complicated and has a terrible lack of instructions. It deleted many valuable emails which I could find in the delete folder but could not restore. It whitelisted at times, and said it had to be registered to whitelist at other times. I unistalled it after a week and wonder what important things I lost. It did stop virtually all spam along with good mail, of course.

"A MUST for all sercurity conscious internet users."
Pros: As a trusted CNET user I can only throughly recommend this product even at this early stage of downloading and testing...Yes the FREE VERSION only catters for 1 account but it is still a must and maybe worth considering latter the PRO- VERSION.With security a must issue on the internet add this to your must have list. I must add I have nothing to do with the program designer in giving it a good rap but only want to say thankyou for the obvious work you put in to the program.
Cons: At this early stage none....except only 1 email account with the free version ..but not to give it a try you have nothing to lose and your computor security to gain.
