Publisher's description of LimeWire 4.14.7
LimeWire is the world's fastest P2P file-sharing application for all types of computer files, including music, video, pictures, games, and text documents. Other features include dynamic querying, file previews during download, advanced techniques for locating rare files, and an easy, clean user interface. LimeWire's new spam blocker gets rid of junk results, and automatic updates will keep you sharing faster than ever with the latest version. You can search for Creative Commons and Weedshare licensed files, and publish your own creative works with Creative Commons licensing. LimeWire continues its guarantee of no adware or spyware. Version 4.17.7 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
Note: The Download Now link will download a small installer file to your desktop. Remain online and double-click the installer to proceed with the actual download.

4.0 stars
- "Down to the wire"
From its start as a post-Napster clone to its leading role as the quintessential Gnutella client, LimeWire has been one of the highest-profile P2P applications. The 4.0 series further ups the ante with a combination of new features, an updated interface, and better all-around performance.
On the surface, the refined and zippier Java interface houses some snazzy new icons and a few new features, including a connection-quality meter and a button matrix for zeroing in on specific file types. The search interface now sports a progress bar, and file information--such as artist and album--is more clearly displayed. The improved network performance gave us considerably more search results than previous versions and a more reliable downloading experience (for a P2P client, that is). This latest version also feels more nimble despite its inherently resource-heavy Java-based foundation. We like the What's New feature, which lists files recently added to the network. The check box to filter out adult content also is a nice touch.
The new features and overall functionality make this by far the most mature version of LimeWire to date. Despite the typical performance flaws found in all file-sharing clients, this latest version continues to offer solid performance and good looks across the board.

Version: LimeWire 4.14.7
"Just a shell of a once great product"
Pros: Nothing like the LimeWire of years past. The law suet has LimeWire running scared. When you do a search you only get half the results you use to get. The users and hosts are leaving this application in droves in search of better file sharing applications. Soon the only thing you will be able to download from LimeWire is viruses,(over 50% are viruses, now!) and copyrighted products that you will not be able to get for free. I would rather have a spyware ridden p2p app like the old Grokester, at least it got results, and the spyware was easily removed. Sorry, LimeWire, you were my favorite for years but now you suck!
Cons: I recommend MP3 Rocket, Frostwire, eMule Plus, Shareaza, Ares, Morpheus...anything but this.

"123 Million downloads, What do you think?"
Pros: To me now its clear that Limewire is the best P2P program there is. Limewire comes up at least 4,000 results on popular music and can raise up to 150,000 results (I know this from experience). You can find many things on Limewire such as Audio, Video, Documents. . . There is many programs that are clones of Limewire such as Frostwire, Freewire, Lemonwire. . . but Limewire is the best because it's infection-free which means it has no spyware, no adware, no virus, no trojans, no dialers, nothing annoying or harmful. The updates on Limewire are big most of the time, yet small other times. You can share anything you want on Limewire. There is this feature on Limewire I think it's called "Direct Connect" which allows you to connect to a user that is on Limewire for example: If your friend did homework and wants to share it to you, all you do is put in his/her IP address and port number, browse him/her find the file and download it. Limewire also lets you download/share images. There are so much settings and options that you can configure in Limewire which are easy and understandable. From a scale of 1 - 10 for speed I would give Limewire an 8. But for safety purposes and overall I'd give Limewire a 9. Limewire lets you chat with other users in that network and you can send them messages so if you download something and it's confusing you can ask the person you downloaded from by right-clicking and pressing on "Chat with user". The highest speed I had for Limewire was about 315 kb/s (I have cable connection). The average speed I get for Limewire is about 55 - 85 kb/s. Limewire has been doing a good job and just recently they added a more secure encryption service which is like a firewall on Limewire. Limewire has more than 25 million users on each day around the world. You can change the language on Limewire to about 30 other languages. Limewire is very easy to use for people who are new to the P2P networking system.
Cons: Although there is a lot of good things about Limewire, there is very few negatives about it. There is a lot of music spam in it, so make sure that if you're downloading music the file should always be higher than 999 KB. Also, make sure not to download any of those stupid spamming virus files like "Top of the charts 200." "Britney Spears gets pranked." For those who are interested in videos make sure not to get MOV "Quicktime format" files smaller than 20,000 KB. Limewire has a lot of adult content so make sure to hide those by configuring it in the settings for those who have children. Limewire also carries some illegal files such as passwords, so be careful.

"Past versions were much better"
Cons: Where did all the hosts go? Takes forever to download now as there are fewer hosts to download from. Did everyone on the Gnutella network stop sharing? Are you all afraid of breaking copyright laws? You chickens have ruined LimeWire.
