With O&O SafeErase even hackers and data spies cannot restore your safely erased files. Even though the deleted files do not show, the information still is saved on the drive. A person using specialized software and hardware would most likely be able to restore the supposedly deleted information. In order to absolutely prevent restoration, O&O SafeErase must be used. O&O SafeErase does not simply delete your files; it annihilates them using approved and recommended methods.

This program is used to completely erase computer files and components, so caution is advised. The O&O SafeErase folder contains icons to change settings, access help, and launch TotalErase. In the 30-day trial version, it's only possible to eliminate files and folders and not all items. Right-clicking on files or folders to delete offers a secure-erase option. Skittish users will be glad to get a prompt before final deletion, which occurs instantly. There are five levels of removal, from highest security to lowest. At the highest setting, data is randomly rewritten 35 times. At the lowest, it's only done once. O&O SafeErase appears to have the appropriate safeguards in place to avoid accidental deletions, and it's fairly easy to use. Intermediate to advanced users will like the range of security options and the program's simplicity.

Version: O&O SafeErase 2.0 build 554

"Too much room for improvement!"

Pros: Given the cons, none. They gave me a full refund instantly, though. Hope they'll fix the problems in the next version.

Cons: Wipes out the entire restore points history once installed and any new restore points thereafter created on a regular basis. Help and/or faq files non existent or inadequate. When an action ends up with an error, it does not give you any clues as to what the error is and what you should do when you get that error message. No or very late (and inefficient) response from Technical Support Team.
