- "Rappelz has it all"
Sometimes it's hard to tell one fantasy-based MMORPG from another. You look like a refugee from Final Fantasy, you fight weird-looking critters and humanoids, you win money for beating your enemies, which you then exchange for better weapons. There are quests, which give a vague purpose to the general slaughter, and there are opportunities to invest real-world money in make-believe stuff.
Rappelz has all of that. Some of the details make the game a bit of a challenge, like having to pay to teleport from one region to the next, and bad guys who aren't afraid to kick your butt. You also can choose your character's gender, hairstyle and clothing before you get going. There are also three kinds of characters you can play, so there's a fair bit of customization within the gameplay.
Other things are annoying, like slow server speeds and outrageously priced weapons--is it really necessary to charge 900,000 rupees (the game's currency) for a sword when you're only making 30-50 rupees per kill? We didn't think so.
One of the best things about Rappelz, though, is that the install process and subsequent updates are well-documented and easy to load. For this alone, it stands out from many of its MMORPG cousins. Combined with reasonable interaction for a free game, Rappelz is well worth a look.

Pros: File is tiny compared to that of other online games.
Game is easy and fun so far.
Players online are actually nice, they help you out!!!
Servers are never overcrowded.
All options can be changed ingame:video and sound. All without requiring restart.
Controls are easy.
You can overbreede both your character and pet.
Cons: For best leveling, you have to leave your computer on with the game running in the background 24/7. (stamina system)
Server Maintenance and HackSheild do not update at the same time. Hacksheild can update at anytime even when your playing. The game will freeze and disconnect you, its done it to me three time while in a fight, ultimately I die and lose xp :(

"Used to be a good game until they tweaked the wrong items over and over and over..."
Pros: The pets are done well in this game. This game used to be one of the better ones but I can't of good conscience recommend this to any of my online friends any more.
Cons: The developers had a good game until the GM's that didn't play much in the game ruined the game play for many of the players by requesting that the parent company do things that were out of line for the game play.
The GM's asked for user feedback on matters then totally ignored the majority of the players when the GM's didn't get the answer that they wanted.
Instead of fixing the problem with high level PK'ers killing extremely low level players, GalaNet added a logout timer which messed up everyone that played the game. Then they kept over reacting to minor issues by making huge adjustments without fixing well documented and well known bugs that needed attention for OVER a year.
If they have an emergency or regular game maintenance or you lose internet connection, you are stuck wherever you exited the game. What this means is that when you login in a dungeon, you usually are dead upon spawning. All they need to do fix this issue is this: (1) load your character in the dungeon (or anywhere else) just before you enter the game; AND (2) add a short invulnerability timer (say 10 to 20 seconds) to allow you to spawn without getting killed by mobs that sit wherever you spawn; AND (3) get rid of anything to do with logout that delays your exit... Such as dropping the "confirm" message on logout.
The MP and HP regen used to be fine about 3 or 4 months ago... then they drastically reduced the MP and HP regen rate... now my level 70+ archer is totally unplayable.
The supposed PK-less server sees tons of PK grievers that are bored with the game... So you often see level 70 to 100+ players PK grief players just coming off of "Newbie" Island that are around level 15 to 20. That isn't a challenge to the High Level PK'ers.
The easiest way to get rid of the PK trash would be to disallow it unless both players are in an arena that agree to PK each other. Sad that they have multiple PK arenas yet these are rarely used!

Pros: The graphics are good, gameplay is cool enough, and the ability to have pets as another good quality.
Cons: The vast amount of quests to kill the same monster or the same monster/different name drives me nuts.
Overpriced items plague the main areas.
Laggy as can be whether it be in the main areas or elsewhere. (Such as in the middle of a battle)
