From Laminar Research:X-Plane is a realistic flight simulator that supports 3D terrain and elevation maps. It includes a physics modeler that can simulate various weather conditions as well as advanced technologies such as dynamic speech synthesis; hardware-accelerated, texture-mapped graphics; OpenGL support (see card requirements below); serial-port output to drive cockpit instruments; motion systems; and moving maps. Other features include a variety of runway surfaces, oil rigs with helipads, full rendering of other air traffic for formation flying, and more. Cockpit textures, plane textures, and sounds are all customizable.
X-Plane can now support Macintosh G3s with a built-in 6MB card. This download functions as a demo or as an updater to the X-Plane CD. If you do not have the X-Plane CD, joystick support will cease after five minutes. To use this version, you must have a video card that supports OpenGL installed. This version features new clouds and lighting, new instruments, full support for CH Pro-Pedals, and much more.
